full moon/ramblings

so is the full moon, shining brightly.
brighter than the sun tonight.
hanging in the star speckled sky.
and it is cold.

colder, is the air i breathe,
and with each breath, the wonder of life.
of death, of sorrow. of life and of peace.

or is it happiness?
the bright light of the moon,
clear white light.
brighter and clearer the picture appears.

or does it?
the reality that is now, or then, past , or present.
days or nights, of peace and contentment.
longing for love, acceptance, resentment.

grudges held, reasons why forgotten.
drifting apart over the years.
like dead leaves falling from the trees.
memories, like ice fog,
hang heavy in the air
that is my mind.

  5. Very beautiful, the world does seem colder - but in a crisp, good way - when there is a full moon...I love the moon, she's magical.

  13. The contrast between the beautiful imagery you write and your philosphical questions is astute. It pulls us up by the proverbial bootstraps to contemplate the opposites. It sounds like you're contemplating life and death and no wonder, given the recent events in your life.To release emotion here is good...I adore the phrase "memories like ice fog." Vivid, strong, and will cling to my mind for a long time.

  16. thanks to you all. things will look up eventually. meanwhile, i shall keep my mind busy with happy thoughts of days gone by. i will also concentrate on my work; which , by the way, is seemingly going well. thanks again for coming over and lending support and encouraging words.
