trying to get back into the blog scene. the weather has been, simply put, gross; too much snow, not enough sunlight. the days are getting longer, if only the sun would peek through; make an appearance, and take away the greyness of it all. we have had so much snow here it is unbelievable; the city crews are working pretty well at keeping the streets cleared after major storms. which, by the way, occur just about once or twice a week it seems. now i realize that most everywhere in our fair country, record setting is happening. this is a real old fashioned winter. snowbanks so high, roads narrowing, and threat of major flooding when all this stuff melts. it has not been a super cold winter, a few really nasty -thirty something times, but for the most part, it has been the dreaded n'or easter type snow storms that have been the kicker here. gawd, how i am hoping for green grass and black flies...(well green grass anyway).
k is doing very well with her course. it has been easy , then hard, then challenging, but it will all be rewarding. and hopefully, ending off with some good job prospects. she will be able to get office admin work when this is all said and done. i hope the college gives raving reviews, she will get one for sure.
i was up waaaay too early this morning. like 2.5 hours before i need to be. oh well, get a chance to update this neglected web page, and peruse the blogroll. i have been up and down it a few times, and along with my bookmarks, keeping up on all the 'latest happenings' from my favourite bloggers. i have also had a chance to sift through my emails, and delete all that crap spam that seems to find me. aarrgghh, spam = yuk.
today is St.Patrick's Day. top o' the morn' to ya! it is also GARY's second birthday. a yes, the terrible twos. he is a cat now. he was a cat before, but a kitten, a mischievous kitten who is now more than ever full of hellery and so on. must post pics. missing all these KODAK moments.
the new job is three months old now and i am still lovin' it. go to work, do my job, at the end of the day, come home, relax. every 2nd wednesday we get our paycheque and it is all good. i suppose it will soon be time for D, the driver manager, to have a meeting with me and let me know if i am going to be a permanent driver with the company. i wonder if, at that time, i will be under consideration for a raise? that would be nice.
the cats are all doing fine, keeping us entertained, as always. this is GARY with Tink on the couch at 4am this morning. the angle of the picture makes Tink look bigger than GARY, but that is surely not the case.
the new car is awesome. but hey, guess what? i had it in at the dealer (the 30 days wasn't up yet, and i wanted a couple of things taken care of), the steering felt kind of stiff, no play whatsoever. i asked them to check it out, perhaps the fluid in the power steering reservoir was low. turns out there was none. but then again, there is no power steering in this car!!!! OMFG, i cannot believe in the year that this car is, 2004, they actually manufactured vehicles sans power steering. perhaps that is why it sat on the lot for almost a year?????? hmph. oh well, i don't mind it. it is a bit awkward in tight spaces, like parking lots, but all in all it is a dream to drive. now to get pictures up.
with permission, i am putting this link up for our "son" j. he has the calling of a photographer as you will see. please go to his site. thank you. jeff crawford photography
well, it is half an hour until i am supposed to get up. (hate that 330 wake up) have a good day, and i hope if you are reading here, you will let me know with a comment, if only just to say hi i was here!? until next time...................poet
Hi M! I hear ya on the winter crap! I am so sick of it! Only 17 more days and then Ryan and I can get the hell out of here and head south for two weeks! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteSnow? What is that, snow? OMG trees are already in bloom here, how can you still have snow there?! Isn't it supposed to be spring already? Hmm, I'm seriously confused now. You'd think that Holland'd be colder than the USA don't you? Or was it wetter? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteAnyway. Glad to see that you're doing well with the job. It's good when things are good :D But then, we both deserve having cool jobs now, don't we, after all that crap of these last years at work.
Hang in there, and I'm sending warm sunray-thoughts your way!!
