Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone. 2009. remember when you were a kid and thought that you could not imagine the year 2000 or beyond? all you were concerned about is if your best friend today would still be your best friend tomorrow. every year i seem to become more sentimental. i look forward to each day, but i almost always reflect on one or two special parts of my past.

seems there are never enough hours in a day anymore. i guess i have been saying that for months now. i resolve to change the way i structure my days; to be more spontaneous; to take a little more time for my writing; to reconnect with those who meant a lot to me at one point in my life, just to let them know that they still have a place in my heart.

my writing has been put on the back burner for a long time. there are so many ideas floating around in my head for little stories or poems, but for the past few months there just hasn’t been enough time to sit and sort through them, just sit and write a story.

beginning a new job is stressful and i needed to take all my energy to learn what was necessary to be good at the new job. it has been almost 5 months and it still feels like the ‘new job’. you may notice there are no f for f stuff. this is such a different company. oh sure, there are irate people who are mean and nasty, but i am learning to deal with them in a better manner. i am also learning more about the product and it really is one i believe in.

mom is doing well. she had a bad time for the last few months, i guess the COPD is progressing. but she is feeling better as time goes on. as she learns to accept her limitations, the stress on us lessens. i guess that is a good thing.

we spend every evening with mom. and k works for her 6 hours a week, cleaning and cooking for her. it takes a lot of her strength to make a meal, no wind, bad lungs, and she gets really tired out. so it is simpler for her not to bother. this way, she is a bit better by knowing that someone is coming in at such and such a time and this is what will be done.

the cats and the dog are all fine. keeping us entertained as always. the kids are fine and we are too.

just thought i would ramble a bit. going to do more of that.

happy new year and may everything you wish for and everything you dream become reality in 2009.

  2. It is tough to be the new one at the job. Sort of like being the new kid in school.

  3. Hey you. Sorry I haven't been around. I get so wrapped up in my own little life. I'll try to stop by more often.
