2009 has been a very hard year.

well, where shall i begin? i cannot sleep because so much is flying thru my head i feel to jumpy to sleep. january, february and march were ok, i think, but april sucked. my cat, jess, who will alwys be the feline equivalent to my soul mate, passed away on the 23rd. she was asleep under my bed, and just drifted away. i miss her, alot. she saw me through so many good times and bad in her 13 years. she was a wonderful cat.

in july, we then had the terrible time of putting seth to rest. he became aggressive, and it just was not safe having him anymore. while it is true that he was a small dog, he could turn on a dime, and with so many other dogs and children in our neighbourhood, it was not worth the risk of having someone get hurt, or getting sued. and it certainly would not have been much fun for him having to wear a muzzle everytime he was out of the house. he was biting. .. even the hands that fed him. that was july 23rd.

the job i held was also getting the best of my nerves, and my allergies. call centre life is not for everyone. i tried to keep my shit together, but it is just too stressful for me. i was getting ready to ask for a leave of absence when on sept 27th i got news that my mom had passed away. she had not been feeling too bad, up until three days before, when she contracted a cold. in 24 hrs it developed into full lbown pneumonia, and on sunday morning, she passed away peacefully.

i miss my mom more than words can say. it is 2 months today since that day. it seems like only yesterday and it seems longer than that too. how can that be?   we met with the funeral director and also a great pastor who was also mom's neighbour in the small town west of fredericton. he did a wonderful job with the service. mom would have approved.

and so the task of executrix began. i am keeping tabs on everything. k keeps a spread sheet of every expenditure, and every errand i run on behalf of the estate.

she left me her mini home free and clear, and everything in it. so we had lots to do to get it ready for the real estate market. we already have our home, so selling it was the only option. now if it would just sell.

meanwhile, her house in harvey still sits on the market, it will be 2 years this may (2008-2010), we have lowered the price countless times in the hope that someone would appreciate what there is there, and buy it. one interested party has looked at it three times so far but still not even an offer. that stresses me as i cannot settle the estate until it sells.

i feel as tho i am an only child through all of this. my mom had a falling out with my brother last year and he said nasty things to her and hung up the phone. i never knew what was said, only that it was enough to make her cry for three straight days. anyway, when the time came to make those dread phone calls to family, i called my cousins to tell them, and asked my older cousin if she could call for me....i just didn't have it in me, and she said that would be the least she could do to help me at such a hard time.

so she tried the phone number i had, which was wrong, but she had an email address so she wrote him to contact her ASAP. that was sunday afternoon. it was not until monday morning that he called her, and after being told the news, he simply said "thanks for the information" and released the call. WTF is up with that?

he has not called me or emailed anything of a personal nature, and when i had given him status of the will and so on in october he just wanted to know the lawyer's name. and he contacted him, so my lawyer told me later.

nice fucking guy he is. what goes around comes around, and one day he will get what he deserves. i hope i live to see it.

in october we lost another of our fur babies. lightening was 16 and having a really hard time with his arthritis. he was also becoming confused...sitting on the table and not knowing how to get down. he went to the Bridge on oct 23rd. (each of our pets left on the 23rd three months apart).

on positive note, i began a course in september. freelance writer. i love to write, and i want to learn how to be a better writer. wish me luck.

on another positive note, i left my job and got approved for EI because of stress. i required a doctor's note stating that call centers and i do not mix. and it was done. my pays from EI just began this past wednesday. i am happy, as i have not had any money coming in since the payday after mom died. i had been off for a month when i asked them for an LOA, and then asked if i could come back part time, and gave the hours i wanted, they could not accomodate my requests.

one more positive. we have a new addition to our furbaby family. kane joined us from the f'ton spca in august of this year. he is a beautiful, gentle boy. we love him.

well, the edgyness is starting to ease a bit. perhaps i just needed to get this stuff out of my head and all over the internet. take care those who still stop by. i have missed blogging, and am going to get back into it right smartly.

thanks for reading. ....until next time, poet.
