today is monday. it is 1225pm and already 29C (with humidity index feels like 35C). it is going to be like this all week, so says the weathernetwork for our fair city. holy crap, when did we move to Hell?
ok, enough about that. topic two--Ebay. so what does everybody think about Ebay selling? we have an account set up, registered for PayPal, and we are good to go. however, i was reading the message boards today, and mostly negative experiences were shared...half shipped items, inflated shipping costs. i have a bad feeling about it now, even though we know people who have sold items, and did very well with that. maybe, for now i will stick to Kijiji. no fees for listing, and the buyer just comes and gets the item. (most of the time anyway). we have always had pretty good luck selling our items on Kijiji, and i guess i feel more comfortable not spending money to make money.
i got a call from one of the centres i applied to (in saint john) regarding potential to work from home as one of their agents. sadly, the nice lady said she was just calling to offer me a position in their contact centre. no work from home opportunity there. well, at least someone called to speak with me about their job? but no, i am not able to work in a call centre, doctor's orders. if i can do the work here in the comfort of my home, then great....i am all for it.
still with WFH gigs, a lady is to call me this evening at 5pm my time to discuss WFH with MarketLinc...a company who has partnerships with other companies to help sell their products. it is a base + commission job, working as an inbound customer service / sales rep. i am a little nervous about it, but i have courage!! i applied to several other local contact centres with the WFH in the subject line, have yet to hear back on those. i have been learning how to market myself a little better, by creating profiles on beyond.com and careerbeacon.com. exposure and an aggressive job search is what i am aiming at. i finally updated my LinkedIn account as well. :)
and it gives me something to write about on here too. :) i have linked my blog to my facebook account, in the hopes of gathering some readers. as well, i subscribe to Networked Blogs (from FB), and have been reading a lot of great blogs again.
lunch time now, followed by email checking, and then um, oh yes, a nap, because i am not feeling 100% today, and a nap usually helps with that.
thanks for reading....make today GREAT!! poet.
