w/end plans:

not much for tomorrow, except for naps. yeah, naps rock. i did not work tonight, not scheduled, or rather the hours i submitted were denied. C, my team supervisor caught an error in the way i submitted my request for next week. i'm glad of that. it is supposed to pick up for the month of November, and i am greedy, i want what ever she can approve me for. at the moment i am approved to work 7 hr shifts each day next week. i will see how i make out, before submitting the same for the rest of the month. 

i got a phone call from transcom yesteday (whilst i was sleeping). you know how hard it is to sound professional when you are first awakened? it's hard. but i did it. i cannot remember the name of the woman i spoke with, i usually write those things down (but see, i was under my covers in my nice warm bed and did not get up for a pen & paper just then). she told me that they were not looking for remote agents at this time, rather in the call centre environment, which as i have stated over and over again, i cannot do that. train me from home, and let me work from here, and i will be your best agent, your star pupil. 

so i get an email today from a transcom HR woman who says click this link to go to phase two of the hiring process. i replied, stating that i was told on the phone yesterday that remote agent is what i seek, and that i was told that was not happening until late next year.  ( i secretly hope i will be in a better financial position by then) . she replies back and says, " no we are thinking of doing something remote sooner-like in the coming weeks", please click the link and go forward. 

so i did. and it is done. and i emailed her back to let her know that i had, in fact, jumped the second hurdle on the hiring steeplechase. let the fun begin!
i also applied to virtual agent services (VAS) for remote agent at all of their centres, like three times!! and emailed directly, quoting all the proper job #s, and attaching my resume. still have not heard from them. if i could be assured that office policies for scent reduced (free) environments was actually enforced (and i would never be penalized missing time at the hands of stupid people with no respect for authority) i'd go back (or would have stayed) in that environment. alas, that is not to be. heck, even region 3 , a hospital supposed to be scent free cannot properly enforce that one. 

speaking of region 3, my doc office is part of that, and there are even signs to the effect. i went there today because i was told to be there Friday at 945 for my toe appt. (the person forgot to tell me which Friday, tho--apparently it is NEXT friday. ). anyway, that is another thought....we walked thru the door and i was instant coughing and chest tight. some blonde dimwad was there in all her perfuming glory. i about died. (not literally this time, thank goodness).   people for the love of fresh air and sunshine, stop wearing that shit, it is bad for some of us, honest...i am not making this up). sheesh. 

where was i? oh yeah...........

meanwhile, sunday is going to be a great day. k has a job interview lunch date with a hiring manager and 6 other people in moncton. (directions printed out). it is for a transcription company based in edmonton. (wait, is edmonton the new moncton now for call centres?). anyway, it is for a remote agent position doing commercial transcription. (not medical like the course she completed). so cross your crossables that this works into something great for k. (then i can putter around part time, ok). 

after the meeting/interview, we are headed to Costco ... because you can NOT go to moncton and not go to Costco. we'll just blow the dust off the membership card and away we'll go. 

oh heck, another thing, sunday night is fright night. great. we have no decorations up and i really rather skip handing out treats this year. besides, we always buy too many of those delectable chocolate bars and we are counting calories after all. and the dog barks every time, and it is just well, i think we'll just sit in the dark and pretend like we are not home. lights out, and a little sign on the steps that says, ' treats gone' boo. or something to that effect. yeah i think that is what we'll do.
