Been sick & stuff

so yeah, stupid sinus/ear infection. horrid cough. pee your pants coughing. there, i said it. i think i have done that more than once, and i am sure anyone who has had this 'death' has done the same. i went to the ER a few days ago, and got the incompetent er dick, i mean doc. he is a total ass. i mean really, i felt like a second class citizen in his presence. he is very anti smoking, and from now on, i am not a smoker, as far as they are concerned. anyway, did you know that green mucous expelled from your nose or coughed up from your chest is not indicative of infection (if you are a smoker, according to this jack ass?). further, he told me that my ears were aching because i am a smoker, and that an antibiotic will not cure me because i smoke. i looked at him and said, 'Are you serious?', to wit he said 'Well yeah'. Further interrogation and belittling had me furious, the topper was when I insisted that I have an infection. He said 'Prove it, cough in the sink here and let me see.'. So i obliged, classy big honkin hack of snot in the sink just for him. he decided that he would write me a script for ear drops, that an antibiotic would not help me, back to the smoking again. i insisted he write a proper Rx , for the drug, and i would be on my way. he got real testy, scribbled out the Rx, said some more nastiness, and walked out. totally unprofessional. anyway, the antibiotic is working, i have 2000 mg/day / 10 days.   point of note- the nice doctors who work the ER would have never subjected me to such degrading treatment. this nasty one should be put away (in a military compound).

yesterday was a balmy 22 degrees. it was awesome. today is supposed to rain, but it isn't yet. it was nice sitting on the deck last night. put up the little blue lights i picked up on sale. (I love sales).  i raked a little of the lawn, too. only hurt one muscle in my back-bonus.

on the job front. so my kick ass cover letter and killer resume brought me three interviews, and a choice of three positions. i accepted a job at York Developments. They have an assisted living apartment building, between the older apts, and the nursing home. it is mostly cleaning and housekeeping of the residents' units, very little hands on patient care, but the wage was highest of the three positions. and it is a foot in the door to getting back working with seniors, disabled citizens, etc. Thursday night we headed over to wal*mart to pick up new scrubs and sneakers for the new job. :) Monday i have a dr. appt scheduled for a TB test, and thursday and friday i am scheduled in to st.john ambulance first aid/cpr training. then i guess i will find out where i will be on the schedule, and know when my orientation begins. :)  they already know i'm going to need time off end of june, and we have the trip booked now, so a week off also. 

in keeping with the flow of this post, we have booked our trip to Calgary. we are not going to rent a car, and k's dad insisted we stay with him. looking forward to end of june for many reasons. :) 

well, i think that is all for now. i still have to find a saturday snapshot to post. at least now you know where i've been.
