long day

today was a very long day. we were up at the glorious hour of 445am! to work for 630am, and they made us stay all day. we signed 'the crack book' but to no avail. we worked our entire shifts. bleck.

i actually haven't had much material for my F for F of late. in fact, the B Brand callers are such a different lot than the customers i dealt with when i took A brand calls. B brand are all rate shoppers. even the corporate renters shop. i guess it really is the end of straight booking for executives. i always liked those ones.   i did have one very interesting call, from an elderly lady who was planning a little trip from one side of florida to the other for a couple of days next week.   i gathered my information to make a rate quote to her, she had all the information to make an informed decision. um,,,can you tell me what was wrong with $11/day plus tax on a mid sized car on a week day?????  can you say DUH?  she tells me she needs to 'compare' to 'shop around' and i tell her i don't need her credit card info to hold this rate, it won't last long...they never do.  note to readers; if you are offered a rate like this by me or one of my co workers, just take it and be thankful. generally speaking, those rates are virtually unheard of. i barely ever see them, and to hear someone say, ho hum, well, i am just sayin'.

still on this topic, i did have a man who called wednesday to get 'that rate he was just quoted'. so naturally, i ask him if he put a hold on that while he 'shopped'. of course he didn't. he told me what the rate was.....and i told him what the rate was when I DID THE QUOTE.  you are not going to believe the price, it tripled ! looks good on him,,,fucktard.  i have said it before and i will say it again, we have a little schpeel that we say after we quote a rate, part of it goes like this, "based on the information given , if booked now...." operative words here, people, IF BOOKED NOW.  the phrase 'you snooze, you lose' comes to mind actually.

um , and just so you know, we are likely still gonna be sold out in florida for tomorrow, daytona 500 and a million fans watching, and requiring cars, AND it is president's day in the US, and whatever reason you could think of for us to have no cars available when you decide you want one. i'm sorry. thanks for calling, have a nice day.

  6. the crack book is our term of endearment for the Early Release book. you sing your name, your login id number and the time that your shift ends, then put a time when you would rather be done....usually ASAP (as soon as possible). the ER book is highly addictive, much like crack, hence the name

  7. I have known some tight people in my time, but that woman in Florida is up there with the best of them. I'll bet she isn't poor, either. I know a woman like her who is a millionaire.
