the sun is out
and baby, its cold outside. presently at -15C. very sunny and bright. i am hoping it will warm up just a bit so i can finish the driveway. there is a small section that i would like to straighten out where it had drifted. i like the look of a neatly shovelled driveway. considering we live in a 'park' the driveways are very large, it is 2 cars wide and i am pretty sure, if i were parking them, three cars nose to tail without driving on the newly planted lawn. right now, the snow banks are very high, as there is not alot of place to place the removed snow. i am pretty sure i will need to have a snow-blower by next winter. r will have hopefully likely moved out by then, and he does some of the shovelling. i enjoy doing it, but my back doesn't. we have varying sizes of shovels and one scoop for this winter. i am still most partial to 2 of them, they are the old ones that i have always used. (i might well have saved that money on the 2 'ergonomically correct' handled ones), they suck. as for the scoop, well, it is ok, but i like my little red plastic (shaped like a snow plow blade) shovel. it works for me. the birds have finally found the feeder that i put up around christmas time. (took ya's long enough). i still have not had to refill the seed yet. a few chickadees, and 2 very tiny sparrow like birds were there. there are grey jays and blue jays around, i can hear them, but they have decided that my seeds are not as tastey, i guess, as the neighbour next doors' seeds. pffffffffffffffffft to you, then. with it being so cold, one would think that those tiny little feet on birds would freeze right off. apparently not as yet. well, that is all for now. after i get the driveway done, i will post some pictures, as soon as i remember how with WP.
:) We seem to have the same problem here, two or more blogs, and no idea which one to continue on!
ReplyDeleteI've also put loads of birdfeeders outside, but the little suckers just won't use it. Maybe it has something to do with Proppie lurking in the window, shouting obscenities to them :D
hi there, nice you found me here. so many blogs, same shit to write about, lol. with the 7 cats lurking in the windows, perhaps that is the reason the birdies stay away. um, that is actually the reason i wanted feeders, entertaining the troops, as it were. enjoy your day. poet.
