catch up/ramblings

not much news going on in my little corner of the interweb. work, sleep, eat, work, eat, sleep, just change the order, but all the same stuff. last week, on wednesday, i had to leave work early to go to the ER to get seen by a doc. seems i have been having some bladder issues, and apparently i have a bladder infection. not to worry, the nice doc wrote out a Rx for antibiotics (three HUGE pills) and by saturday i was my usual self, in that department. god bless the handsome ER doc and his wonder meds! still with sickness, now i have a stupid cold. i have to be so careful about colds and infections in my sinuses and chest because of the proneness (is that a word?) to pneumonia. well, i have not had to go to the handsome ER doc for that yet. we have some pharmacist recommended meds and they seems to be keeping it from getting too bad. medicine head, gotta love that feeling. my chest is congested, and i can't seem to cough hard enough. i guess it could be worse. it could be that all too familiar feeling of the itchy bronchials and having the weight of the dinosaur on my chest. that would be cause for a trip to the ER for sure. i had a flu shot, so if i get that, it won't be as bad as if i hadn't. lets hope we don't have that to add to all the fun here.

i am just so glad that k doens't get prone to these types of ailments. she is very healthy with a strong immune system. she and i are trying to get back into doing yoga. we have a few DVDs for instruction. i really need to get the fat off, and she needs to tone. with being sick last week, we kinda took time away from that. we'll need to get into it again soon.

with work: all seems to be falling into place there, so far. we still have overflow from other call centres for Abrand, but i have been doing mostly Bbrand this week. we'll see what today brings. the customers weren't too dense yesterday, and i actually booked 52 reservations! that is my highest since the switcheroo to Bbrand. i still have talk time issues, but my supervisor says it is ok, because i am in a learning curve, and that is being allowed for. so it is all good. k does fantastic on Bbrand. her booking ratio is going up, her talk time is coming down, and her transfer rate (for the partners we offer) is very, very high. i actually hit goal and then some yesterday, getting 32 people to remain on the line while i connected them to hear the offer to a partner. as well, i had meetings with my supervisor for january and february quality monitor, and i am doing very well, meeting expectations, and meeting my goals. so that is good for me. i need to work on my stats, because there it is all about stats, and i want to be able to get better shifts. our new shifts, the ones i wrote about in a previous post, begin after 24th march. hmph. i will just muddle through like i always do. k got really good shifts, i will work hard and get them again, too. only one memorable F for F call to relate: caller: "i need to have a car from XXXX city, to XXXX city"
me:'" i'm sorry, i have no rate for you, the system is denying your one way request"
caller:" but i just want to take it and drop it off". do you see where this is going??????

mom is doing pretty well. i am arranging for her t get lifeline in the home, so she will feel safer while being alone. she is starting to feel better too, for the most part, eating better and not crying all the time anymore. that breaks my heart, and i know she has to go through that, but it sure is hard to see. she misses dad something awful, but in time she will pick up and carry on. she has been getting back into reading, she always read, there are like a million books out there. i am also being appointed as POA so i can help her with the finances. my brother is just too busy to help. he was kinda helping a little at first, but now well, it is just back to the way it was, he has retreated to his world. and that is ok. i am the one who is here and been there to assist mom more anyway, seems only right that i look after the whole thing, right?

we had a large dump of snow again last week. it was heavy and soaked with water from the mild temperatures melting it. we went to work saturday morning, the road in the park wasn't even plowed, we love LT2, and when we came home, the driveway was all cleaned out! the neighbour man across the street brought over his snowblower again and cleaned it for us. bless neighbours.

the cats are all fine. crazy as ever. never a dull moment in our home, that's for sure. i must put up some pictures soon. of them being all cute and shit.

i think i am as caught up as i can get for the time being. i am heading off to flit through the interweb and world of blogdom now....take care, my faithfuls.
