still around....all over the place

....yes, my faithfuls, i am still around. been really busy with work, and searching for new work. i am really getting tired of abc group, and have been exploring my options elsewhere. though i will miss 80% of the callers i receive, as well as some great friends i have made there, i will not miss the constant change and BS accompanying it.

my explorations have taken me not far from where i currently work, to another call centre. this one is a major hotel chain and it appears to be quite stable and secure in nature. i have an interview tomorrow after work, and if i am offered a start date, i will hand in my notice tuesday. it is still with reservations, just not cars. with all the changes our centre has taken on and endured, and all the extra effort i feel i have contributed, i no longer feel like a valued employee. the security (as secure as any job is now a days) isn't there anymore, and i feel like i could be turned loose at any moment. further to that, there is a little matter of the scent policy, that no one seems to be able to enforce. in the last month, i may have worked one full week of shifts. the rest of the time i have had to leave due to inconsideration on the part of my dear co workers.   the policy at yfcrc is very strictly enforced, and i will learn more of that tomorrow. it is something that is very important to me (my health).

Seth is doing really well. he is 9 weeks old now. i went out yesterday and picked up he and mom, and we drove around for the day. get mom out of the house day, and seth loves driving. what a great little companion.  he is learning what he can and cannot do each day. he loves to play and keeps mom almost too busy.

i am addicted to face book. i flit around and before i know it i have found more people i used to know. i may or may not have mentioned it, but i have an older sister with whom i have no contact. long story and not worth getting into now. whilst sending out invites to join facebook, i inadvertently sent one to her. ooops. she replied with wtf? and i replied, sent in error, disregard. she sends another email back stating that she thought as much but that she had to rub my nose in it. (um, rub my nose in what? ) we had a falling out a year or so ago, about miscommunication at our birthday time. she got all bent out of shape and i stopped contact. end of story. i know she reads my page here, and i have been known to hop to her page, mostly to keep abreast of my nephews activities. i am very proud of both boys. one is very high up in karate, and will compete with boys older than himself at the international level. that is a very postitive accomplishment, and i am very proud of him.  sometimes, things are said or actions done, that cannot be undone. with my sister, it was one of those things that happened.

now, i am not saying that i am sorry that i did a birth search (where the hell is this going??), but if i could have a 'do-over' i would do things alot differently. i have younger siblings, too. following our bio dad's death, the younger ones stopped contact with me. so be it. i am not hard to find.  i did my part 15 years ago. and did the best i knew how to do at the time. my birth mother, there is a whole other post unto itself. let's just say she is really out there....and didn't know how to react to my return to her life, and still doesn't.  i never held anything against her for anything that might have happened around the time i was placed in foster care and  later adopted, but get over it already. i did.

with my family. all is well. well kinda. mom had a doctor appointment yesterday and now has to have a follow up appointment for ct scan of chest. the  most recent xrays showed 'something'. mom has lung cancer in both lungs and has been in remission for 12 yrs. she had breast cancer before that and is still here to tell the tale. she must be ok. she has to be ok. she's my only parent. i need her as much as she has come to need me in these months following dad's death.  send a prayer up if you have the time.

meanwhile, it is time to peruse facebook, and see what is happening in that world. have a good weekend, my faithfuls!

  2. Good luck with your interview tomorrow--I know you will do great, It is always difficult to work for a companay when you give so much and are not appreciated but when it comes to a company who refuses to enforce policies and places ones health in jeporady---it is time to move on if at all possible---so wishing you nothing but the very best tomorrow and if this does not work out well know there is something better out there for you.

I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.

    Enjoy your week.

  3. Good luck with the interview! I'm sorry I'm not dropping around as often as I should - but I am reading your entries via google reader (and then I forget to comment...sorry!)
Take care and I hope you get the job!

  4. Like you, I'd also do things differently if I had a "do-over" for the search for my birth family. It is what it is, even though, for me, I just don't get how family isn't always first, no matter what. That's my own issue, though. Anyway, I'll keep your mom in my prayers. Good luck with the interview!

  5. thanks for the well wishes. i am still awaiting word, meanwhile, i am exploring other options for jobs, too. i guess with spring, i want a change.

there are 2 sides to every story, re: my paragraph about my birth family, and the facebook thing. apparently, i am clouded in my memories of the events surrounding my sister and i falling out. she posted (well copied and pasted) my post here on her page. her accounts differ from mine, but apparently it was because of my drinking at the time which clouded my memories of that time. good grief. when does it end?

  6. Maybe it can end with just agreeing to let it be in the past, and to move forward?
