the first week on the new job was to say the least, a busy one. even though it was a four day work week, the days were long and begin early. having a truck has its disadvantages. there were some pretty large (and heavy) orders that i did. i did them, but i was so tired afterward. my day starts with my first pick up at 730, and sometimes the days are 9-10 hrs long. i'm sure that the pay will reflect that. at least i am hoping so.
i do think, however, that i will use the car come monday. gas prices are creeping upward again, and some of the little jiggy runs burn more fuel that a highway drive. one of my orders on friday was a real killer, too. 1250 pounds, or 83 small boxes weighing about 15 pounds each. poor LT2. he was loaded down pretty good. and after loading it up, taking it to its destination, and trying to get it off loaded nearly did me in. add to that the fact that we had a weird little heat wave friday and saturday; lets just say it looked like i took a shower with my clothes on. the good thing about this job is weekly pay and a really nice boss. i really think that once i get used to the daily runs, and get comfortable with the whole deal, it will work out in my favour.
seth has been ill since his operation, and poor mom was just about daft with the whole thing. good thing k was able to go out and take care of things, bringing them in to vets appointments, etc. in fact, seth stayed here for a couple nights to give mom a break, and he was doing fine here. he had his neuter, and must have had a reaction to the medications because he had a low grade fever and diarrhea ( i know that is spelled wrong,,,should'a just said the shits). he is on 2 types of meds now, and a week's worth of special food and a powder to sprinkle on it, to get his little system back in order. he lost a bit of weight, but that is ok, he was actually a bit on the heavy side, he doesn't get the exercise he should with mom, since he is an active puppy and she is elderly. anyway, he is on the road to recovery now.
we got the shed!!! i know i already put that in, but you all know how long it has been since we wanted one. and now it is in the yard. now if only i had the time to start organizing it and getting stuff that is supposed to be in it put away. oh, wednesday night there was a family of raccoons in our garbage trolly; they got it, and the cover fell back down, so they were inside. now the trolly is in the shed, for the time being.
well, that is about all for now. i wanna get around my blogroll and see how you are all doing. take care, my faithfuls...
