,,,and with the season comes shopping. we have nearly all of the shopping completed. a rarity for this time of year. amazing, really. i guess it pays to do it in advance. now to get it sorted and wrapped. not sure when, but we will need to get the christmas tree soon. not too soon, as it might be difficult to keep ms.tink and mr.fluffy-pants away from it.
the cats are fine, their usual behaviours in check. pepe still drives jess crazy, and gary, aka mr.fluffy-pants, winds up in at least one time out every couple of days for his antics. you know, it is odd that we use time outs for gary,,,,,and that they are effective.
christmas comes with good memories and sad ones. this year is no exception. dad was with us but not really this time last year, and it will be a year since his passing on the 29th. it is hard to believe that it has been one year already. mom is doing really well. i'm very proud of her and envious of her strength. i wish i was as strong as her sometimes.
it has been too long since i have done any serious blogging. for now, i would like to issue a topic for your response. how about we all write a paragraph or two about our fondest christmas memories?
i'll begin..,.,.,.,.,.,.,
i remember fondly the year i received my ride on horse. i think we have all had one of those. i bounced all around the house for days. i got a small pedal car that year as well. there are pictures on my FB page under Me/through the years. mom said that once i got the hang of using the pedals in that little car, i was drag-racing the milk man, the mail man, and any one who would 'race' me.
who's next? i'm not big on tagging, so if you have come by and read this post, leave a comment that you were here, and i will check to see if you have added to the christmas memories topic.
have a good day/evening, my faithfuls!!!!! until next time, poet.
Hey M!
ReplyDeleteI have so many great Christmas memories, that I could sit here all day and list them, lol. One thing I remember fondly doing each year, which I miss now is on Christmas eve, is going over to the nursing home and sneaking in my grandfather in some "christmas cheer". This was a real treat to him as you can image, there's no "cheer" in those places. It was so heartwarming to see his eyes light up when we'd pull out the "cheer" for him and he'd realize that we snuck it in for him, lol.
Every Christmas is great for the most part...I have fond memories of our family's traditions of rounds of visits, rounds of spiked nog and Midnight Mass...last year was my favorite because it was the first Christmas spent with my wife...
