k's mom took a turn for the worse....she died, and because there was no D N R (do not resuscitate) order in place, they brought her back. this is the same thing that happened to Dad last year. we have not heard how much damage there will be from this. but i just wanted to let you who read know that we could use some serious prayers now more than ever.
k did get to spend a week before the surgery with her mom and dad. good quality time. that is what is important now. it sounds heartless, but if you have been through it well, we would rather that she just be let to rest in peace.
D N R orders are so important. no heroics. just let me die. have a living will in place, and for god's sake, let your wishes be known, well in advance. don't let this happen to you.

ReplyDeleteupdated update...mary is rallying along nicely now. she has some strength in her left side, and there seems to be no damage from the 'death'. cautiously optimistic. keep sending those prayers.
