been pretty busy with getting ready for the move. so much to do, so little time. guess it is a good thing i am still not working. there is so much to pack & sort. mom can't really help, she really isn't feeling all that great, she is 80 after all. she is still looking forward to the move now, though, so that is good!
the work at home job didn't work out; they are "pursuing other applicants", which means thanks for driving all that way, but um, no. meanwhile, i have been applying locally to hotels for front desk stuff, or employment in supervisory capacities. not like i have not got the experience, insofar as house keeping is concerned. had an interview friday for a local hotel, but naturally, living in an officially bilingual province, that didn't pan out either. so i will just keep plugging away.
the boy has moved to his own place after 4.5 years with us. we have enjoyed the opportunity to have him with us, but it was his time to fly off on his own. (insert smile). he was up for supper and to do laundry last night. it was good to see him, and he is happy. which makes us happy. way to go, boy!
the girl is doing well with her job. she likes it. i had tried applying there several times but can't even secure an interview. which kinda sucks, oh well. keep plugging along.
k will soon be done her course. graduation is set for june 18! she is this close to attaining an honours diploma. i am very proud of her. she has done really well with these studies. and she has been applying for employment all around our fair city.
mom got a chest cold last wednesday, and by friday it was pretty bad. she is now in the hospital on antibiotics and oxygen, along with ventolin aerosol masks to help her breathing, and help clean her lungs up. the chest x-rays showed no pneumonia, which is really good, and even though she doesn't like the hospital (um, who does?), she knows she is in the right place to get better.
seth is staying with us for the time being. the cats are not happy about this. they will just have to adjust, and they are getting used to him being here. i really think that he is going to be a better dog, once he and mom are living just up the street, and we can work with him more.
well, that is all for now. thanks for reading. poet.
Sorry to hear about the difficulties w/finding a job, girl. Keep on keeping on, k?
ReplyDeleteThe kids sound like they're doing great -- hooray for the boy going out on his own, to make his own way. =)
Hope your mother gets better real soon!
Happy packing!
Hey M, how's it going?
