humidex+COPD=gross. (and other stuff)

even with the fan on me, and the window open a bit, i was awake at 333am. the air is heavy and right now, it is 5am and already 20C. temperatures are expected to reach high 30s including that dreaded humidex. (hereinafter called the H-dex).

mom is getting really used to her new abode. we went to green village yesterday morning (before it got too hot; TEDDY has not got AirConditioning). now there are three hanging baskets of flowers, and one beautiful trellis flower around the front yard. it is starting to feel like home, she said yesterday; and that pleases me. i love that she is close enough to see every day.

meanwhile, today, k and i are heading out to the rural home to clean up for an open house this weekend. our real estate lady says there might not be much point in that, but perhaps at least someone will see it. she said there has not been a nibble on the property at all, and barely any hits on the website. i don't quite understand. it is not overpriced given the upgrades and added features, the property (yard and mature trees, paved drive, etc) is very well laid out and looks really nice this time of year. we are thinking about lowering the price a tad, but not until following the open house.

there is still about as car load of stuff to tote in from out there, stuff that still needs to be sorted. (then of course, there are the things out there that we were hoping to sell, like the pool table, a couple of love seats, and the organ.

i have posted for sale ads on kijiji website, and really hope that some serious offers come in soon. that site brings out the dillies, that's for sure. lots of spam mail, like they have nothing better to do than to reply to ads saying stupid shit. the favorite line is "i know you are asking $$, but would you take -$$$ (lower)"? fuck off. i have lowered prices, and that brings even the less serious emails. if you want to make arrangements to see and purchase the item, email me, if you are just bored, fuck off.

on another note. things have been tight around here since i have not had a job since april, and k's EI ran out in may. mom has been very generous in assisting us with our financial downfall, but things are going to be looking up. i begin my new contact centre job on the 21st july. i will be learning customer service for a satellite internet provider, and the job is salaried. some of the people who are there now were those i met while working in headset hell, including one of my coaches, and many co-workers. one told me, in fact, that there is room for advancement there (i know, i heard that all before), but this time it is true. she who told me that began in CS and now is in QA (quality assurance). i could do that. i was very good at my job in Hhell, and this go round will be different because it is customer service, rather than sales. (although selling the product is important to the needs of the business, serving the client base is more important). i am looking forward with great hopes for this new job. cross your fingers, teeth and toes, ok?

well, it is now 515am and i guess i will hit publish. i finally got around my bloggy roll and hopped about a bit. left a few comments hither and yon. just wanted to let you know i was still reading, but as you also can see, it is a busy time for us.

take care and happy summer (or winter, as the case may be)! poet.

  1. Congrats on the new job M! What company is it? I'm unfamiliar with the company you speak of. We had a big meeting here today, we all have to lower our talk time as a center to keep us a float.

  2. Flowers always "homey" up a place! =)

Girl, the prob with the house selling ISN'T the house and probably isn't even the price... it's the MARKET.
Folks just aren't buying houses as much right now due to the economy. Keep your chin up, hon... when we tried to sell my Mom's house (b4 she moved in w/us), it was on the market over TWO years. I thought the damn thing would NEVER sell. In the end, she lowered the price more than she wanted, did more things to it that the prospect requested than she would have liked, paid more of their closing costs than she wanted and walked away with less profit than she anticipated, but the fucker SOLD! lol

Keeping fingers, eyes, legs and other little bits crossed for luck w/the new job!

ps. You don't know humidex 'til you come to the southeastern US, sweetie!
*wiping sweat from brow* lol ;)
