Day 11 → Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
i'd have to say two things, my sense of humour and my hair. i have a twisted wit by times, but generally, can be quite funny. must be the Aries in me. or maybe it is just the way i am. i work very hard at finding humour in every day life. (i know there are times when this blog is pretty dark--life, right? ) i think i was a funny kid, cannot seem to recall many times when i was down and out (that came later). a few yrs back i made up this character, marg, who is the most back woods slob ever. she speaks with a thick sowerthen accent, and writes like a second grader who was pushed through. one of these days, marg may even compose a post. :)
Day 12 → Something you never get compliments on.
i cannot think of any, but then again, maybe i will let my anonymous commenter *you know who you are, bestus*, help me out with that one. k, thanks.
Day 13 → A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)
there have been so many different songs that i equate with certain times in my life, thus far, that this one would be a toughie to narrow it down to just one.
Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)
Dear D:
When i was little, i looked up to you. you were strong, handsome, popular, and you were going places. i admired you on so many levels. you were a star athlete in school, you played hockey, football, and baseball. i remember how the world revolved around you, when i was 7 and you were just 17. how proud i was when ever the reporters came to do interviews with you. how i knew you were going to be a pro.
i was so proud watching you on the mound at the big game. i wanted to be just like you, and got into baseball and became a pitcher too. though not famous, i was pretty good, for a little leaguer.
as i got older, tho, things changed, you were not the hero in my eyes that you once were. you no longer had the time to remember the 'little' people who stood by you and were there when you were first discovered. and then you seemed to be gone.
big events in my life came and went, and the pride and admiration turned into resentment and anger. i have since gotten over the resentment, and the anger has gone as well.
now i just feel sad. not just for myself, but for you. for you because you have missed out on so many things that you could have been a part of. you have let me down in so many ways. i used to be proud of you, but not the man you became.
your sister.
*************** make today GREAT~ poet.
Day 11 - Seriously bestus, you MUST MUST MUST write a post from Marg's point of view. Please? ;) Oh, and your hair.....hmph, I am so envious.
ReplyDeleteDay 12 - Boy, this IS a tough one. When I first met you you were one of the most pessimistic people I had ever known; however, in the last 9 years you have done a complete turnaround. You still have your moments but as a rule you are very optimistic. I admire your ability to change that much.
Day 13 - I agree. There really are too many artists to pick just one.
Day 14 - Well said, bestus, well said!
