are you growing feathers?

i love turkey. we have it twice a year, at thanksgiving and at christmas. thing is, we have it for days after these holiday feasts. lunch and supper today, lunch tomorrow, and soup tomorrow evening. i am not knocking it, it is good to get that much mileage out of one hunk of meat. did i say i loved turkey? gobble gobble. oh, for a minute there i thought it was a stray grey hair, nope, a feather.

and on to the latest obsession, blog link things. so i joined up link referral, and yeah the traffic is up, but i don't think click and leave is really traffic. there is a place where you can blog hop other blogs and websites, and write reviews and rate. so i spend a good deal of time on these, as i would like the same in kind. well. last night i got this review of a 10 (checked stat counter to see that the blogger in question had been on for 0 seconds). how do you rate a blog a 10 if you didn't read it, or look around? so i thought to myself, 'self, lets go see what that bloggers' page is all about.' come to find out it is a commercial site selling stuff. stuff i would have zero interest in. but as a reviewer, you are impartial, and give it your best, right? perhaps i am mistaken in that assumption. so i spent about 20 minutes pointing and clicking, this and that, rated him an 8. so i get this comment back asking how could i do that to him? a lousy 8? when he gave me a 10. oh give me a break, puh-lease. it says right in the rules of rating not to give things a half assed attempt (it isn't in those words-but you get my meaning).  meh, whatever.   still with the referral/ reviewer thing, another one said that my page was ok, but that the title might give way to thoughts of poetry. well, there are some poems on here, in the past posts. it is a personal blog, i am not trying to sell myself. i think what i was attempting was to expand my horizons, and perhaps travel vicariously through the blogs of others. see, we don't get out much. 

anyway, that is enough about that. oh i did find a few new blogs to stalk, though. and i think later i am going to upload my favorites for you to peruse. i mean if you want to. i am not, nor ever have, blogged for money, although the idea of getting paid to do something i am doing anyway is appealing. i have those google adsense ads, and amazon associate ads on there. i checked the income on them since i joined and posted them on the sidebar...zilch, zip, zero, naddah. no shit! if someone is actually making money on that stuff, can you puh-lease tell me how you are doing it? k, thanks.

off to walk the dog now. he has been very patiently waiting for his after supper walk. make tonight GREAT~~ poet.
